Here's the first in what I plan to be a regular feature of other people's favourite and most delicious things that might become your next delicious thing. I hope you enjoy!
1. The dark rocher at William Curley, because I go there often with tours and because it's great.
2. Always, I'm lucky to get to eat with Felicity fairly regularly and ask them!
4. I have a list I'm slowly starting to ask. One day perhaps I'll be able to ask Nigella and Ottolenghi...
5. I had to be reminded that we were in 2024. I saw school friends on the 31st during the day which was wonderful but a catch up rather than a NY celebration. I went to bed by 10pm and slept through midnight, waking up at dawn in the Australian countryside, where it was still 2023 in London. Time is weird.
Also ps - I have now recalled a lot of other favourite cheesecakes!!! Chatsworth Bakehouse! Outside Tart! Loulou and Bake My Cake in Odesa! SDV Coffee in Lviv!
Ps my New Year’s Eve was on a delayed train back from my brother’s - got to Paddington too late to get to a friend for dinner as I was due at work early morning on Jan 1... so I came home, managed to roast some parsnips and carrots to have with ‘lucky’ NYE lentils and hummus at about 10pm in front of the telly - but on the upside, the pear, mincemeat and almond cake I made to take to the friend’s was all mine.

Needless to say, I lapped this up and loved it … Felicity’s old photos included!
So glad. 🥰 I loved seeing the pics too!

Have you had Maya’s??
I have not managed to get there yet but I must!

Oh no! How annoying! Though that is quite a good upside! 😅
Love this feature of other people’s delicious things! I look forward to seeing Nigella and Yotam’s answers in the (hopefully not too distant) future!
1. I can’t think of a specific treat I buy often, mostly because I like to try new things.
2. Stealing your answer for this one Jen.
3. I think ‘what’s the most over/under-rated sweet treat’ would be a great question.
4. On the mention of Quince, I think Anna Higham would be a great person to ask these Q’s to.
5. Spent NYE with some friends at their house we all made some canapés and the Prosecco (and fancy Kombucha) was flowing.
Ooh I love all of these responses! Slightly embarrassed I just called Yotam “Ottolenghi” 🤣 It’s clear we don’t know each other yet!
Adding that under/overrated question the next time I send it out!
