Does Italy have more famous must-visit destinations than many others country?
Apart from maybe the USA… 🤔
I was thinking how it feels like I’ve barely been to Italy because I still haven’t been to Venice or the Amalfi Coast or Sicily or seen the ruins of Pompei or eaten pizza in Naples…
Then I started listing in my mind where I have been: Rome, Milan, Bergamot, Florence, Turin, Lake Como and now Abruzzo.
Oh.
I’ve technically been to Bologna but it was only for a few hours between trains on a random journey that I took from Croatia to Greece when I was 22. I know, a car ride, bus, three trains, a ferry, another train and then another ferry, with as little transfer time as possible, is not the sensible way from Split to Mykonos.
My alternate route should have cost about a third of the flight from Zagreb to Athens, but I missed a carefully planned connection because the schedule online was out of date, so had an extra 23 hours in Ancona and subsequently missed the first night of my prepa…
