The Next Delicious Thing

I can't stop thinking about it. And, there's an event happening today!

Hello hello,

I wanted to get this out to you as soon as possible, in case you can make it to northeast London today for Phil Khoury’s pop up at Fink’s Mountgrove. He’ll be selling cakes from recipes in his second book, as well as his Nigella-recommended Khoury’s Chocolate bars.

📌 70 Mountgrove Rd, Finsbury Park, London N5 2LT

Also, next week is Toklas’ now Annual Christmas Market. Pump Street Chocolate will be there, as well as Sirop, Maegen Homeware, Fielden Whisky, Tama Ceramics, Aram by Imad, Audiobook in a Card, Sea Sisters, Yod & Co, Felicity Spector with her book, and more… (About half of the businesses are not food.)

Here’s the Christmas range from Pump Street:

They may also be selling their 15 year anniversary “double sourdough” bar and a special Grenada bar made with beans from trees that were lost in this year’s hurricane.

From 10am on Saturday 6th December.

📌 9 Surrey St, Temple, London WC2R 2ND

My cookie recommendation this week is for paid subscribers. Keeping some things just for paid subscribers feels important. I genuinely appreciate everyone who’s here, and hope all of the free content is useful to you and worth sticking around for! Next week I’ll list all of the mince pies / other Christmas items I’ve had so far, and the ones I’ve loved the most. I’m at seven currently, and expect I’ll have had a few more by next Sunday. Do let me know if you’ve had any especially good ones!

A cookie worth travelling for…

This isn’t the kind of cookie I would have expected to enjoy, but I really did - its memory keeps looping back in my head.

I almost asked a friend to collect another one on her way to meet me, partly so I could take a photo of the inside for you, but also so I could eat it again.

In the end, I didn’t, because I was already on my way to afternoon tea, then I had more occasions to try things - including two tours this past week. I am racking up things to tell you about but trying to keep these bite-sized (sorry), so I can focus on one delicious recommendation at a time and make sure it’s worthwhile and not overwhelming! There’s always the 300+ posts I’ve already written and my maps (only 5 weeks left - get them with the code BUNDLE2025), if you need more recommendations!
