In the meantime, below are tales of some excellent Victoria Sponge versions I’ve had lately from Pophams, Jolene and Crumbs & Doilies and the recipe for the most ridiculously good strawberry and chocolate cookies.
I bought a version of the cookie at Marianne’s pop up at Hearth on Sunday. Then I begged her for the recipe to share with you because it felt cruel to tell you about it knowing you couldn’t get one. Plus I don’t have any non-London food to tell you about this week, so I’m hoping this is a fair substitute.
